The Topo Gigio trend recreates the Enzo Fernandez celebration: you appear at a stadium touchline under the lights, greeting fans with cupped hands at your ears and puffed cheeks, shot like slow-motion TV footage. Juan Román Riquelme started this gesture back in 2001. One picture is all you need.

The cost appears on the button. Seedance 2.5 creates the Topo Gigio celebration directly from your picture—no intermediate steps—in 8 seconds with authentic audio. No text prompt needed.

  3. Download or share

Your clip arrives in minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Save it, post from your device, or retrieve it anytime from your Library.

Which photo works best?

Upload one photo of you, or an adult friend with permission.

  • Waist up or full length, clear face, good lighting. Close-ups of your face fill the final slow-motion frames, so a crisp, front-on shot matters.
  • Visible ears and hair. Since your hands go near your ears, hats, hoods or large headphones interfere. Skip sunglasses.
  • Dress how you'd celebrate. AI preserves your clothing: a jacket, dress or hoodie looks more amusing at the touchline than athletic gear.
  • Solo in the frame. Group shots risk AI choosing the wrong face.
  • Never use athletes, famous people, strangers or minors.

Where did the Topo Gigio Celebration trend start?

The celebration existed long before it trended online. On 8 April 2001, during a Boca Juniors vs River Plate derby match, Juan Román Riquelme found the net and froze with both hands cupped at his ears, appearing deaf to the roaring stadium. Fans called it the Topo Gigio move, after the large-eared mouse puppet from Italian television, though Riquelme explained later it was dedicated to his daughter, a fan of that character. The Riquelme Topo Gigio celebration has since spread across Argentine soccer.

On 15 July 2026, during the World Cup semi-final in Atlanta, Enzo Fernández netted Argentina's 85th-minute equaliser with a long-range shot against England and repeated that same move. Argentina prevailed 2-1. The Enzo Fernandez celebration vs England turned into a meme, and when his English club shared a photo of it, some English supporters responded with controversy.

By October it evolved into an AI trend. On 12 October 2026 @ns7films shared an AI video replacing him with a fantasy TV character; it surpassed 430,000 views. #topogigiotrend, launched on 15 October, collected 685 videos and almost 2 million views within a day. On 18 October the Instagram creator @nekit_rkv shared the Shrek celebration: the green ogre waves from the sideline and cups his ears toward the crowd. It collected 238,000 likes the next day, with fans dubbing it "Shrek Fernandez".

Edit [Video 1]. Replace only the explicitly mapped source subjects in place: [Image 1] replaces the foreground sports participant performing the celebration; photo slot: You, face clear (from the waist up is best), in every shot where that subject appears. [Image 1]: Copy the uploaded person's face, facial structure, eyes, skin tone, age, hair and facial hair or absence of facial hair. Remove source facial hair or hairstyles that the upload does not have. Keep identity consistent across every shot. Keep the source outfit unless the selected variant explicitly changes it or requires a body/species change. Selected variant: Celebration / main. Apply only the requested cast, wardrobe, setting or effect changes for this variant; preserve the source action and shot timing instead of inventing a new scene sequence. Use the complete preview as the source for the Topo Gigio Celebration / Celebration variant. Preserve its actual action, effect progression, camera moves, shot sequence, physical interactions and mouth/jaw timing. Photo-role labels determine the intended identity assignment; never assign uploaded faces to unrelated background people or props. Track each source subject through front, profile, back and occluded views. Keep all non-target subjects unchanged. Never duplicate an uploaded identity, merge subjects, swap their roles or transfer an identity to a prop or background subject. Preserve the complete source video from its first frame to its last: source duration, frame order, every shot boundary, playback speed, camera movement, framing, lighting and original performance; keep background/props unless the selected variant explicitly changes them. Preserve each subject's original head, gaze, body, hand/paw gestures, expression, mouth and jaw opening/closing and their exact source timing. Do not create a new dance, scene, shot list, dialogue or lyrics. Do not add, remove, reorder, shorten, extend or retime shots or actions. Produce silent video. The matching unmodified original soundtrack is restored separately after this edit. Do not generate speech, singing or music. Do not add new captions, subtitles, logos or a watermark.

[Video 1] is a motion guide only. Copy its camera moves, timing and actions: the salute on the touchline, both hands cupped behind the ears with the cheeks puffed, the look up at the stands, the arms opened wide, and the hands back behind the ears. Do NOT copy the green ogre in [Video 1]: not the green skin, the ogre ears, the brown vest or the cream tunic. Replace that character completely. The one celebrating is the person in [Image 1]. Keep the face, hair, skin tone, body and clothes from [Image 1] in every shot, with normal human skin and their own ears. No green skin, no ogre ears, no brown vest and no tunic unless [Image 1] shows them. Photorealistic, like the reel. No text, no logos, no watermark, no extra limbs.

What happens in the Topo Gigio celebration clip?

Choose between two variants when you tap "Create your own". The Celebration variant mirrors the beats of viral AI videos, across 8 seconds:

SecondsWhat happens
0 to 2Full color: you jog from the goal down the touchline, then stride forward in profile with one hand raised to your brow in a salute, cheeks inflated.
2 to 5Switch to monochrome slow motion, low angle close shot facing you: both hands cup your ears, cheeks puffed and lips jutting as the lens zooms closer.
5 to 8You tilt your head upward, gazing at the roaring crowd with hands still behind your ears, camera orbiting around you.

The output is vertical (9:16), 720p, featuring stadium noise and a heavy drum strike at the transition. No music track is included, so you can layer the trend audio when posting. The stadium is generic: no national or club uniforms, no emblems, no scoreboard overlay, no broadcaster logo, no actual players.

Production method. Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's latest video model, generates the scene directly from your photo without intermediate frames, keeping facial accuracy close to your original. No text prompt required. Exact pricing displays on the Generate button beforehand, and failed runs refund credits.

The Viral reel version replicates the AI reel by @nekit_rkv that went viral on 18 October 2026, substituting you for the green ogre, in roughly 7 seconds: you wave at the touchline, cup your ears with inflated cheeks while the camera angles upward, gaze at the roaring fans, spread your arms, then cup your ears again. It includes the reel's original audio, which you can mute on the results page.

Why not the real match clip?

Viral AI versions typically start with the broadcast footage from the semi-final: actual teammates around the goal scorer, their national kits, the score overlay, and stadium signage all remain, with most inserting a celebrity or fictional character in the scorer's spot. The example shown here is that initial viral video by @ns7films, trimmed to the celebration and cropped to hide the score graphic; it demonstrates the trend aesthetic, not a Smew AI output. Smew AI doesn't replicate that broadcast material. The Celebration variant builds a fresh scene with identical movements and the same monochrome slow-motion style, set in a generic stadium, featuring only you. The Viral reel variant copies an AI reel rather than match footage: @nekit_rkv's reel stars a cartoon ogre, and our adaptation begins after the entrance and crops to him, so no score overlay or kit sponsors appear and the few background players remain tiny and blurred. It functions as an AI football video, or an AI soccer video, for everyone: an AI goal celebration video showing only your face.

How to post the Topo Gigio trend

Who should do it. The humor comes from ordinary people performing a World Cup celebration: you in work attire, your parent after a casual match goal, a friend who won a debate, or you following a minor victory ("when the group chat finally agrees with me").

Sound. Most AI versions use the audio "original sound - NS7" from the initial viral video; on 16 October 2026 it appeared in 471 TikTok clips. Select it, or any audio you prefer, in the TikTok editor. The Viral reel variant already includes the audio from @nekit_rkv's reel. The music is owned by its rightsholders, so review guidelines before using the video in advertising.

Hashtags. #topogigiotrend (685 videos on 16 October 2026) and #enzofernandezaitutorial (676) drive the trend; #topogigio and #enzofernandez are the major tags. Keep the platform's AI disclosure.

FAQ

Topo Gigio Celebration trend questions

What is the Topo Gigio celebration meaning?
Cupping both hands behind your ears signals "I can't hear you, speak louder": a player directs it at fans, or at doubters, following a goal. It's named for Topo Gigio, the big-eared puppet mouse from Italian television. The Enzo Fernandez celebration meaning is identical: Enzo Fernández performed it after his equalizer versus England.
What was the Enzo celebration vs England?
On 15 July 2026 Enzo Fernández netted Argentina's 85th-minute equaliser during the World Cup semi-final against England in Atlanta. He placed both hands at his ears, inflated his cheeks and pressed his lips outward like blowing a kiss toward the crowd. Argentina prevailed 2-1, and clips breaking down the Enzo Fernandez celebration moment by moment circulated widely on social media.
Is it the same as the Riquelme celebration?
Yes. Juan Román Riquelme pioneered the Topo Gigio celebration for Boca Juniors versus River Plate on 8 April 2001, making it his signature move. That derby marks the origin of the Topo Gigio celebration. Lionel Messi performed it versus the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup, and Enzo Fernández did it versus England in 2026.
What is the Topo Gigio AI trend?
An October 2026 trend, sometimes shared as the Enzo Fernández AI meme, in which AI substitutes another person into the celebration: a television character, musician, friend or yourself. It launched with an AI video on 12 October 2026 and proliferated via CapCut templates under #topogigiotrend. On Smew AI you create it from a single photo.
How do I make the Enzo Fernandez celebration AI video?
Tap "Create your own", select a variant, upload one clear picture of yourself, and tap Generate. The cost displays first. Celebration produces an 8-second vertical video in a packed stadium with crowd audio; Viral reel produces a 7-second replica of the viral AI reel with its audio. No text prompt required, and the clip waits in your Library once complete.
What is the Shrek Fernandez reel?
It's the Shrek celebration that went viral on Instagram on 18 October 2026: an AI reel by @nekit_rkv featuring the green ogre from Shrek movies performing the Topo Gigio celebration at a stadium touchline. The creator titled it "Shrekaldinho", and the top comment dubbed it "Shrek Fernandez". It followed his video of Shrek executing the iconic Özil goal, which Brazil's CazéTV reposted on TikTok for 5.2 million views, so the Shrek football meme (Shrek playing soccer, in American English) was already trending. The Viral reel option produces the same Shrek AI video with you replacing the ogre.
Do I need the CapCut template for the Topo Gigio trend?
No. Most Enzo Fernandez celebration AI tutorial videos direct you to a CapCut template that duplicates the actual match broadcast. Here you upload a single photo and receive the complete video, built as a new scene with only you featured, ready for posting.
Is there a Topo Gigio trend tutorial on TikTok?
Yes, hundreds exist: on TikTok the Topo Gigio trend tutorial videos demonstrate copying a template link into CapCut and uploading a photo. Here those steps are eliminated: one photo, one button.
What does festejo Topo Gigio mean?
It's the Spanish term: a festejo de gol means a goal celebration, so festejo Topo Gigio is the Topo Gigio celebration. Its significado is "I can't hear you, speak louder". Pair it with the name Enzo Fernández and you'll find his 2026 goal versus England.
Can I put a footballer or a celebrity in the clip?
No. Many viral versions feature famous faces, but a fabricated video of a real person may violate platform policies and that individual's rights. Use your own picture, or one of an adult friend with permission.
Is there an Enzo Fernandez celebration GIF or meme version?
Your video runs 7 or 8 seconds, so you can share it as a brief meme clip or convert it into a GIF using any GIF creation tool. The 2 to 5 second segment, hands behind ears in slow motion, is the portion people typically loop.
Can my dog or cat do the Topo Gigio celebration?
This template is designed for people: we found no pet variant of the trend by 16 October 2026. For pets, try the [AI dancing pet video](/templates/ai-dancing-dog-video).
How long is the video and what format is it?
Celebration: 8 seconds, vertical 9:16, 720p, with stadium crowd audio and no music. Viral reel: about 7 seconds, vertical 9:16, 480p, with the reel's original audio, which you can mute on the results page.
